Our US Carcassonne page is dedicated to the Audois club and its official products, offered as soon as they are available. It outlines the history of USC, founded in 1899, showcases its Albert-Domec stadium located at the foot of the medieval City and its yellow and black colours, and provides you with the keys to wear the Carcassonne shirt in the right size.

The 1925 final and the rise to professional rugby

Founded in 1899, US Carcassonne experienced its greatest historical moment in the spring of 1925. On April 26, at the Ponts-Jumeaux in Toulouse, it held US Perpignan to a goalless draw, leading to a replay of the French championship final. On May 3, at the Maraussan park in Narbonne, the Catalans won five-nil with a converted try, and the Brennus Shield slipped from the hands of the Audois. More recently, the club has been climbing the ranks of federal rugby: crowned in Fédérale 2 in 2008, then in Fédérale 1 in 2010, it then moved up to Pro D2, the gateway to the elite.

Albert-Domec, from the Pépinière to the walls of the Cité

The USC plays at the Albert-Domec stadium, nestled at the foot of the walls of the Cité de Carcassonne, which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Long known as the Pépinière stadium, it was renamed Albert Domec in 1948, after a player from USC during the interwar period, who passed away that year. The venue showcases the dual oval culture of the city: it also hosts AS Carcassonne, a rugby league club, whose most famous player, Puig-Aubert, is honoured with a bronze statue at the entrance. Renovated in 2002 and again in 2012, the stadium offers, with the towers of the Cité in the background, one of the most spectacular settings in French rugby.

The yellow and black, colours of a club and a city

The yellow and black is the signature of USC: these colours adorn its jerseys and colour the stands of Albert-Domec on match days. Wearing the Carcassonne jersey shows your attachment to Aude, a department where rugby is enjoyed both in XV and XIII, and to a city whose fortified silhouette is known worldwide. For a club jersey, the supporter version offers a comfortable fit in your usual size; if you prefer a loose fit, go for the next size up. For a child, base the size on their height in centimetres rather than their age, and leave a little room for them to wear it for several years.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the capacity of the Albert-Domec stadium?

About ten thousand seats. Shared with the city's rugby league club, the stadium is surrounded by an eight-lane athletics track, which somewhat distances the stands from the pitch but makes it a versatile venue.

At what level does US Carcassonne play?

Promoted to Pro D2 in 2010, the club has spent many seasons there, interspersed with a stint in Nationale, the third division. Ranked last in Pro D2 in the spring of 2026, it was relegated back to Nationale.

What is Pro D2?

It is the second professional division of French rugby, just below the Top 14. It includes sixteen clubs, and its best players compete in a final phase that opens the gates to the elite for the winner.

What is the major derby for US Carcassonne?

The Audois derby against RC Narbonne is the highlight: the two cities, about sixty kilometres apart, compete for supremacy in the department. Matches against USAP, the Catalan neighbour who won the 1925 final, also have a special flavour.

How do you wash a yellow and black jersey without colour transfer?

Wash it inside out, at thirty degrees, and separately for the first washes: the black can bleed onto the yellow. After that, a cycle with dark colours will suffice, without fabric softener or tumble drying.
