Our Aviron Bayonnais page brings together the official products of the Basque club: home and away jerseys signed by Nike and home and away match socks. It also tells the story of Aviron, founded in 1904, the atmosphere of the Jean-Dauger stadium, and the blue and white that is inseparable from Bayonne, along with our tips for choosing your size.
The blue and white of the Basque Country.
The Aviron Bayonnais was established in 1904 as a rowing club, a sport widely practiced on the Adour and the Nive, before its rugby section became the main showcase. Its players won the French championship as early as 1913, then again in 1934 and 1943, making Aviron one of the great names in the history of French rugby. The club then spent many years oscillating between the top tier and the second division, before re-establishing itself in Top 14, supported by one of the most loyal fanbases in the country.
Products from the Top 14 and Pro D2 clubs are also available:
All championship clubs can be found on the Top 14 / Pro D2 page.
Aviron plays at the Jean-Dauger stadium, beside the Nive, one of the loudest venues in the championship. Before kick-off, the stands sing the Peña Baiona, a tune that has become the club's anthem, sung by thousands of voices. The bandas, these Basque brass bands, add rhythm to the key moments of the match and extend the celebrations long after the final whistle. The sky and white takes over the stands and the streets of Petit Bayonne, the neighbourhood that borders the Nive, where fans gather before and after every game.
The home jersey features the sky blue and white colours of Aviron, while the away jersey is used when the opponent's colours are too similar. Both are made by Nike, in a supporter fit, straight and comfortable for the stands. The match socks, available in both home and away versions, rise up to just below the knee and stay up on the calf: they complete the outfit of a young player who wants to train in their club colours, or a supporter who loves to dress in sky and white from head to toe.
