Our selection of training trousers for kids features the bottoms that young players wear for warm-ups, during winter sessions, and while traveling with the club: joggers Force XV Force Plus, Erima Premium One, Errea Austin, and Errea Giorgia in a girls' fit. Our tips focus on fit, leg length, materials, and care after a muddy session.
Keep legs warm, before and after the game.
The training trouser keeps your legs warm during warm-ups and static phases, then comes off for matches. The Force XV Force Plus, from a French rugby brand, is available in a training version for running and a jogging version for travelling. The Erima Premium One belongs to a full range of teamwear, allowing the club to match it with the jacket and shorts from the same line. The Austin from the Italian brand Errea comes in children's sizes, and the Giorgia features a cut designed for girls. All have adjustable elasticated waistbands.

For training, tapered trousers that narrow towards the ankle won't get caught in the studs and won't flap in the wind during runs. The zippered hems allow you to take off the trousers without removing your shoes, which is a real time saver when the coach starts the match. The material is just as important: a lightweight polyester fabric dries quickly after a downpour, while thick fleece becomes heavy when wet and is better suited for travel. Zippered pockets keep small items secure on the sideline, without the risk of losing them during warm-ups.
A child's trouser is chosen according to the height indicated on the label, then you check the leg length: the hem should fall at the ankle without bunching up on the shoe. If between two sizes, go for the larger one and use the drawstring waistband to adjust it; the trouser will then accommodate growth spurts. After a muddy session, brush the knees when the dirt is dry, then wash at thirty degrees, inside out, with zips closed to avoid snagging other clothes. No fabric softener: it leaves a coating that hinders sweat removal.
Great deals can be found in the promotions, sales, clearance, Black Friday. Items shipped within 24 hours are prepared and dispatched within 24 hours. The year's key events follow a stable order: Black Friday in late autumn, the end-of-year festivities, the winter sales, the French Days in spring, then the summer sales and back-to-school period.
The training trouser is more fitted and lightweight, designed for running and quick drying. The jogging trouser, often made of fleece, is warmer and looser: it's worn on the sidelines, while travelling, or at home, rarely during exercises.
There is no official threshold, but below ten degrees, many coaches recommend them for warm-ups. The child keeps them on during technical workshops and takes them off before contact and running phases.
Girls' cuts, like the Errea Giorgia, are often a bit more fitted at the hips and waist. It's best to follow the brand's size chart and the child's height, trying them on if possible while wearing sports shoes.
It's best to avoid it: the fabric can be grabbed by opponents and can tear at the knees during tackles. In matches, the official kit consists of shorts, and trousers are reserved for warm-ups and the substitutes' bench.
One training trouser for sessions and a warmer jogging pair for travel cover most needs. With two training sessions a week, a second session trouser prevents the need to take home a still damp item.
