Canterbury Phoenix Raze

2 products
2 of 2 products

Our selection of Phoenix Raze brings together the versatile rugby shoes from the Phoenix range by Canterbury, including the Phoenix Team with removable studs and its FG version with moulded studs. Sturdy, with a wide forefoot and padded collar, they support club players and juniors from midweek training to weekend matches.

Versatility made accessible.

A wide toe box and a padded collar

The Phoenix Raze is the accessible version of the Phoenix range, designed to last. Its synthetic polyurethane upper resists mud and abrasion, and its shape features a wide toe box, which is great for players with wider feet who find themselves cramped in narrower models. A padded foam collar supports the ankle, a breathable mesh lining limits sweating, and a slightly elevated heel reduces strain on the lower leg. The result is a comfortable shoe right from the first sessions, without a long break-in period.

Phoenix Team: screw-in studs or FG version

The Phoenix Team with screw-in studs is the winter pair: its studs grip into soft pitches and can be replaced with a key when worn. Its FG variant, with moulded studs, is suited for dry and hard pitches during the preseason and spring, where it is easier on the joints. Both versions share the same upper and fit, allowing for a quick switch between the two without losing reference. For a club player, having both pairs is the best way to stay well grounded all year round.

A shoe for juniors and club players

The Phoenix Raze range is available in junior sizes, with a six-stud sole suitable for the stature of young players and the heavy pitches of rugby schools. It is suitable for profiles that combine power and mobility: back rows, centres, but also club forwards who want a stable shoe without investing in a high-end model. For a junior, size should be checked at each session, as their feet grow quickly, and a small centimetre of allowance should be kept to ensure the foot doesn't slip inside the shoe during support.

Good deals

Good bargains can be found in the good deals, promotions, clearance, sales, Black Friday. The new arrivals showcase the latest models. The highlights of the year follow a stable order: Black Friday at the end of autumn, the end-of-year holidays, the winter sales, the French Days in spring, followed by the summer sales and back-to-school season.

Frequently asked questions

Phoenix Raze or Phoenix Genesis: what's the difference?

The Phoenix Raze is the accessible and robust version of the range, aimed at club rugby and juniors. The Phoenix Genesis, more technical, features lighter materials and a responsive sole for high-level players.

Is the Phoenix Raze suitable for wide feet?

Yes, that's one of its strengths: its shape allows for a wider toe box than average. Players with wider feet feel more comfortable in it than in speed shoes, which are often very narrow.

Is the Phoenix Raze suitable for a prop?

For a versatile club forward, it provides good support. A prop looking for maximum stability in scrums would rather opt for the Stampede, the Canterbury shoe designed for the front row.

How long does a Phoenix Team last?

One to two seasons for a club player training twice a week, provided it's left to dry in the open air after each session and the worn studs are replaced before they damage the thread.

Is the junior Phoenix Raze unisex?

Yes, the Phoenix Raze is available in a unisex version, for both boys and girls. You simply choose the exact size for the young player, measured while standing at the end of the day.
