Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ospreys: the provinces' kits

Cardiff, the club from the Welsh capital that plays at Arms Park, is the best represented, with kits designed by Macron: waterproof jacket for rainy afternoons, zip-neck training jacket, zip hoodie, polo, and t-shirt. The home jerseys of the Glasgow Warriors, Edinburgh, and the Swansea Ospreys feature the colours of these provinces, while the Edinburgh shorts complete the match kit. For the stands in the British winter, the beanie from the Scarlets of Llanelli and the Glasgow scarf are a must, and the Gilbert balls in the colours of the two Scottish clubs make for great souvenirs.

From the Celtic League to the United Rugby Championship

The competition started in 2001 under the name of Celtic League, featuring the Irish provinces alongside Welsh and Scottish clubs. Two Italian teams joined in 2010, followed by two South African franchises in 2017, under the name Pro14. The arrival of the Bulls, Lions, Sharks, and Stormers in 2021 led to the creation of the United Rugby Championship, with sixteen teams. The Stormers won the first edition in 2022, Munster triumphed in 2023 in Cape Town, the Glasgow Warriors in 2024 in Pretoria against the Bulls, and Leinster, the most decorated province in the competition's history, in 2025 in Dublin.

Waterproof jacket, zip hoodie, beanie: the stand outfit

The clothing from the provinces is designed for the British climate. The waterproof jacket, with a hood and taped seams, should be roomy enough to layer over a hoodie: stick to your usual size, or even go a size up if layering multiple items. The zip hoodie, which fits closer to the body, can be worn alone or under the jacket. British cuts often run a bit tighter at the shoulders, so it's a good idea to check your chest measurement against the brand's size guide. For care, a waterproof jacket should be washed at a low temperature, without fabric softener, which can affect the water-repellent treatment of the fabric.
