Our selection Adizero brings together the fastest rugby boots from adidas, from the RS15 family: the Adizero RS15 Pro with SG screw-in studs, its AD9 version designed in tribute to Antoine Dupont's early days, and the Adizero RS15 Ultimate. They are aimed at wingers, centres, half-backs, and speedy back-row players who rely on their footing.
Lightness for speed.
The Adizero RS15 features a lightweight and rigid Speedframe sole, with screw-in studs arranged to support forward starts as well as sharp direction changes. Stability fins rise along the sides to lock the foot during hooks, and foam pads located at the heel, called Sensepods, provide added comfort and stability. The upper combines tear-resistant ripstop fabric with a less permeable Fusionskin coating, which limits water intake in the rain and keeps the shoe lightweight at the end of the match.

The asymmetrical lacing, shifted to the outside of the foot, frees up a smooth striking surface on the instep: this is where the ball is hit during a penalty, conversion, or clearance kick. 3D-printed elements on the upper improve contact with the ball. The RS15 inherits the qualities of the Predator Malice, a former popular rugby model from adidas among scorers, while maintaining the lightweight design of the Adizero RS7 which it succeeded in 2023. A fly-half who combines runs and kicking finds a rare compromise here.
The Adizero RS15 Pro AD9 pays tribute to the scrum-half of the French XV, whose number nine gives its name to the edition. Its design is inspired by his early years in rugby, before reaching high levels, and its holographic tongue, which changes colour with foot movement, bears the signature of Antoine Dupont. The rest of the upper remains deliberately understated. Beneath this finish, the exact construction of the Adizero RS15 Pro is retained: Speedframe sole, offset lacing, and SG screw-in studs, making it a true match shoe and not just a collector's item.
Good deals can be found in bargain deals, promotions, clearances, sales, Black Friday. The new arrivals showcase the latest models. The highlights of the year follow a stable order: the Black Friday at the end of autumn, the festive season, winter sales, the spring French Days, then summer sales and back to school.
A mobile flanker, who covers a lot of ground and scavenges at the ground, might find it suitable. A lock very engaged in scrums will prefer a wider sole, like that of the Kakari, which offers more foot protection.
The weight depends on the shoe size and the studs fitted. The ripstop fabric construction and Speedframe sole make it one of the lightest rugby shoes from adidas, significantly lighter than a model designed for forwards.
This is generally not necessary: the shoe fits close to the foot to maintain precision in footing. However, someone with a wide foot may find it tight at the front; in this case, it's best to try it on later in the day with a match sock.
The Pro version of our selection has SG screw-in studs, designed for soft pitches. For dry pitches at the start and end of the year, the RS15 family also comes in a moulded FG sole, which is more comfortable on hard ground.
Short studs are sufficient on a soft but stable pitch, while longer studs provide better grip on heavy ground. They should never exceed twenty-one millimetres, and always change the complete set to balance the footing.
