Warm days, all in relaxation.
Shorts are mainly chosen based on their material. The chino, made from twill cotton, maintains a smart look with its belt loops: this is the case for Blend models, ideal for wearing in the city. The Oakley Baseline Hybrid mimics the cut in stretchy polyester treated to repel water and dry quickly, practical for holidays or outings. The cotton jersey, soft and flexible, makes for relaxed shorts, like the Nike Club for kids or the oversized New Era shorts. Finally, mesh and airy technical fabrics, from Nike Essential Mesh to two-in-one shorts from Endurance, support movement during the warmest days.
Shorts come in different brands:
All the lifestyle is gathered on the page lifestyle.
The length is measured at the inseam: a short short stops mid-thigh, a classic short is a few centimetres above the knee, while the bermuda sits just above the knee. The latter gets its name from the Bermuda archipelago, where it became an accepted outfit in offices during the twentieth century. Slim legs look elongated with shorts above the knee; muscular thighs, particularly in the front, are more comfortable in a straight cut or a wide-legged bermuda, like the Payper Combat for women. The oversized cut, like the New Era short, intentionally broadens the leg for an urban style.
Measure your waist size at the navel, then compare it to the brand's size guide: chinos often indicate a size in inches, called W, while relaxed shorts have sizes ranging from S to XXL. An elasticated waistband with a drawstring allows for a little flexibility, handy between sizes. For children, height in centimetres takes precedence over age, and elastic-waist shorts accommodate a year of growth. In terms of care, wash at 30 degrees inside out, zip up zippers, and avoid fabric softener on technical materials, which can lose their water-repellent treatment or breathability.

A short short allows full movement of the thighs for running, pushing in scrums, or jumping for the ball, and offers less material to grab during a tackle. They are also cut from thick fabric with reinforced seams to withstand repeated pulling.
It's a loose short lined with a fitted inner brief or undershorts, sewn inside. The inner layer supports the muscles and prevents chafing, while the outer short maintains a classic look.
Cotton jersey, soft and thick, is great for relaxing days and cooler evenings. Mesh, airy and very lightweight, wicks away heat better during play and dries quickly after washing.
In a casual setting, a solid-coloured chino of bermuda length, neat and pressed, can work in summer. Jersey or mesh shorts, however, are reserved for relaxation and sports.
Cotton tends to shrink with heat: wash it at 30 degrees and air dry it instead of using a dryer. A still damp chino can be reshaped by gently pulling on the legs before laying it flat to dry.
