Everything you need to support your side throughout February and March, from the Crunch to the final match of the competition.

The Tournament for the younger ones.

Blues, Welsh, Scots: dress your child in the colours of their team

The home shirt of the France rugby team, made by adidas, can be worn as it is or personalised with a name of a Blue. Wales offers a complete wardrobe in children's sizes: a printed t-shirt for school, a slim-fit polo, which is more fitted than a classic polo, and a zip-up hoodie for afternoons in the stands. Scotland has a home shirt with long sleeves and a zip-up sweatshirt, two pieces made by Macron that keep warm during winter matches, whether at the stadium or in front of the TV. Each child can choose their team, or mix pieces if they have family on the other side of the Channel.

From 1883 to today: the history of the Tournament

The Tournament was born in 1883 between England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. France joined in 1910, was excluded after 1931, and returned in 1947; Italy completed the lineup in 2000, marking the transition to the Six Nations. Each edition is played over five match days, with each nation hosting two or three times. Winning all five matches earns the Grand Slam, which the France team accomplished in 1968, 1977, 1981, 1987, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2010, and 2022.

Calcutta Cup, Triple Crown, Crunch: the trophies in the Tournament

Within the Tournament, several trophies are contested match by match. The Calcutta Cup has pitted England against Scotland since 1879, the Triple Crown rewards the British or Irish nation that beats the other three, and the Giuseppe-Garibaldi trophy has been contested between France and Italy since 2007. The France-England match, nicknamed the Crunch, remains the most anticipated event for Blue supporters, while the Wooden Spoon is symbolically awarded to the last team in the standings.

Frequently asked questions

When does the Six Nations Tournament take place?

Every year, from early February to mid-March, over five match days spread over seven weeks, with two weekends off. The final day features three matches on the same Saturday, often with the title at stake.

How is the Tournament ranking calculated?

A win earns four points, a draw two. An attacking bonus rewards the team that scores at least four tries, a defensive bonus is awarded to a team that loses by seven points or less, and a Grand Slam is worth three extra points.

Is there a Tournament for women and youth?

Yes, the women's Six Nations Tournament and the under-20s tournament feature the same nations. The women's competition takes place in spring, on a distinct schedule from the men's.

Why did Italy join the Tournament?

Its good results in the 1990s, including victories against Scotland, Ireland, and France, opened the doors to the competition. It played its first match in 2000 and defeated Scotland in Rome.

What slim-fit polo size should be chosen for a child?

The Wales slim-fit polo fits the torso more closely than a classic polo. If the child is between sizes or prefers a looser fit, go for the larger size; for other items, their height remains the best guide.
