This page presents the Euskarians' jerseys, the rugby team from the Basque Country that has brought together players from both sides of the Pyrenees since 1997. It is aimed at supporters from Bayonne, Biarritz and San Sebastián, lovers of Basque culture and those looking for a rare jersey in the colours of the ikurriña, marked with the pottok.
The Basque Country, united by rugby.
The Euskarians came into being in 1997 to promote Basque rugby on the international stage and bring together players from Iparralde, in the north of the Pyrenees, and Hegoalde, in the south. On June 6, 1998, they launched rugby at the Anoeta stadium in San Sebastián, facing the Irish province of Ulster, in front of around six thousand spectators. The team then played friendly matches against touring teams, provinces, or national selections, like Leinster, with each match becoming a celebration of Basque rugby.
The kits of national teams are also available:
All the selections are gathered on the national teams page.
The emblem of the Euskarians is the pottok, a small semi-wild horse from the Basque mountains, tough and enduring, qualities that resonate with forwards. The kit features the colours of the ikurriña, the Basque flag: red, green, and white. In the symbolism of the flag, red represents the Basque people, the green cross the oak of Guernica and ancient liberties, and the white cross faith. Wearing this kit is to display an identity that transcends borders, in a region where rugby is experienced both in villages and in major clubs.
The selected players come from clubs in the French Basque Country, such as Aviron Bayonnais and Biarritz Olympique, and from clubs in the Spanish Basque Country, from San Sebastián to Getxo or Ordizia. For the former, the selection is an additional showcase; for the latter, an opportunity to face opponents of a rare standard in their league. The Euskarians' kit is rarely seen outside the region, making it a sought-after item for supporters of Aviron and BO, as well as for fans of unusual kits.

No, it is a regional selection, without nation status with World Rugby. They do not participate in the Tournament or the World Cup, but in friendly matches against provinces or selections.
Yes, as the Basque selection is not recognized as a nation, playing for it does not commit a player for the future. They remain eligible for France or Spain, according to World Rugby's eligibility rules.
You measure your chest circumference and choose according to use: a loose fit for everyday wear and Bayonne festivities, more fitted for playing. Between two sizes, the larger is often the most comfortable.
For someone who loves the Basque Country or supports Aviron and BO, it is an original gift, full of identity. It stands out from usual club kits with its pottok and its red, green, and white colours.
Wash it inside out, at no more than thirty degrees, with a detergent for colours, so the red doesn't bleed onto the white. Dry it in the air, out of the sun, to keep the colours bright.
