Our page dedicated to training tracksuits Nike showcases, when the brand offers them, its warm-up kits for rugby. We explore the role of Nike with the Springboks and, formerly, with the French XV, the difference between its performance and warmth fabrics, and our tips for choosing the fit and size of a tracksuit to the letter.
The training tracksuits signed by Nike.
Rugby holds a special place in the history of Nike. The Oregon brand outfitted the French team from 1998 to 2012, a time when the Blues warmed up in tracksuits adorned with the Swoosh. In South Africa, it dressed the Springboks from 1996 to 2003, and has been back since July 2023 with a contract covering all South African teams, both for training and matches. Its training tracksuits benefit from this high-level experience: for an amateur player, it ensures outfits designed for repetitive sessions and long travels.

Choosing a Nike tracksuit starts with the material. The Dri-FIT models, made from lightweight polyester, wick sweat away from the fabric: these are the active warm-up outfits, which are worn during the first drills. The Therma-FIT pieces retain body heat and are used for waiting, sitting on the bench and for evening sessions in winter. Launched in 2013, the Tech Fleece combines a smooth surface with a soft surface separated by a thin layer of air, providing a warm tracksuit without bulk, more suited for travel and recovery than for contact.
Nike specifies the fit of each piece. The tapered trousers, narrow at the ankle, do not flap during runs and won't get caught in the studs, but must be long enough to avoid riding up the shoe. The straight fit, which is looser, is worn over snug shorts and is suitable for players with powerful thighs. The jacket should be taken in size if it is worn over a thin jersey, or one size up for a forward with a broad upper body. For care, wash inside out at thirty degrees, with the zip done up, then dry flat to maintain the shape of the shoulders and collar.

It's the comma-shaped logo of the brand, designed in 1971 by graphic design student, Carolyn Davidson. It symbolizes movement and speed, and appears on the chest or leg of most Nike tracksuits.
The training ranges prioritize technical fabrics and fits that move with you. Sportswear models, designed for the city, focus more on comfort, style, and fleece, and dry more slowly after exercise.
Nike expresses children's sizes in letters, from XS to XL, each corresponding to a height range. The child is measured standing up, without shoes, and the next size up is taken if they are at the top of the range.
It's better to avoid it: heat can damage elastic fibers, harm heat-pressed logos and may reduce the effectiveness of technical fabrics. Air drying, on a hanger or flat, is enough because polyester dries quickly.
The Dri-FIT models can handle light showers and dry quickly, but they are not waterproof. In heavy and persistent rain, it's better to have a change of clothes in your bag and change into something dry as soon as the session ends.
