Our selection of kids' sports bags is aimed at young players heading to practice or tournaments with their boots, a change of clothes, a water bottle, and a towel. From the compact illustrated bag, like the Stitch model, to the club bag, we explain which size to choose based on age, how to organize it to keep wet and dry items separate, and how to look after it after a session in the rain.
All their gear, from the changing room to the pitch.
For a child, the sports bag should be chosen to fit their size: when worn crossbody, it should neither drag on the ground nor bump against their knees. The pillow, which is cylindrical in shape, fills up easily and fits in a locker; the flat-bottom rectangular bag stands upright and opens wide, helping the little ones find their things. An adjustable and padded shoulder strap, along with two handles, allows it to be carried by hand for short trips and on the shoulder to get to the field. The illustrated models, like the Stitch bag, are easy to spot among the teammates' bags.
Children's bags also come in:
All children's bags are gathered on the children's bags page.
A well-organised bag separates clean from dirty. The shoe pocket, often located at one end and equipped with ventilation eyelets, isolates muddy cleats. A waterproof pouch or simple coated fabric bag keeps wet clothes after the session, so that neither the towel nor the city clothes get soaked. Small outer pockets hold items that are easy to lose: mouthguard in its case, spare socks, hair tie. A reinforced bottom, thicker than the rest of the bag, withstands the muddy ground around the field better.
The main enemy of a sports bag is trapped humidity. As soon as you get back, completely empty the bag, hang the outfit to dry before washing, and leave the bag open in a ventilated room, never on a radiator which can crack the coatings. Once a month, turn it inside out to brush off any sand and grass stuck in the seams, then wipe the inside with a soapy sponge. To combat odours, a sachet of baking soda put in the shoe pocket absorbs moisture from week to week.
Great deals can be found in promotions, sales, clearance, Black Friday. Items shipped in 24h are prepared and dispatched within 24 hours. The year's highlights follow a stable order: Black Friday at the end of autumn, the year-end holidays, the winter sales, the French Days in spring, followed by the summer sales and back-to-school.
A compact size is enough, large enough for a pair of cleats, a complete outfit, and a towel, but lightweight once filled. An overly large bag fills up with unnecessary items and becomes difficult to carry for a child of this age.
A water-repellent fabric or a coated bottom is sufficient for wet field edges. The main thing is that the shoe pocket and the bottom resist water, as mud tends to accumulate there after winter sessions.
A second pair of socks, a dry jersey for after the match, snacks, a filled water bottle, and a warm jacket for waiting times between matches. The mouthguard stays in its case, stored in a closed pocket.
A tag sewn inside or a name tag attached to the handle is enough. In a locker room where all the club's bags look alike, a coloured ribbon tied to the zipper also helps the child quickly find theirs.
It depends on the label: some polyester models can handle a delicate cold cycle, placed inside a pillowcase. Bags with a rigid bottom or padded shoulder straps should be hand-washed and then air-dried, open.
